With 55 incredible Queensland musicians of the highest calibre applying, our judges had their work cut out for them! But after deliberation, we are overjoyed to share an amazing shortlist of excellent singer-songwriters who are in the running to take home the grant and launch their careers.
Without further ado, your 2019 Carol Lloyd Finalists are: Sahara Beck, Angharad Drake, Ella Fence, Asha Jeffries and Andrea Kirwin! Congratulations to these incredible artists, and a huge thanks once again to everyone who applied for helping keep the legacy of Australia’s original rock chick alive!

The Carol Lloyd Award is presented to an emerging female identifying singer-songwriter, who resides in Queensland. The prize includes a $15,000 grant to either record a full-length album or record and tour an EP. The award gives recipients a head start in their career, the means to broaden their experience within the music industry, and helps them to realise their goals as an emerging artist.
Applicants can submit up to three tracks of original music and supporting material. For full details, please download the Award Guidelines.
Queensland Music Festival and Queensland artists will oversee the judging of the Carol Lloyd Award for 2018 with support from Arts Queensland, APRA AMCOS and Hutchinson Builders. Award judges are Katie Noonan, Joc Curran, Leanne de Souza, Sean Sennett, John Willsteed and Annie Peterson.
The Carol Lloyd Award is presented by Queensland Music Festival and supported by APRA AMCOS and Hutchinson Builders and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
